I have worked as a creative partner with Nikon Optical UK for some time. One project I undertake is to produce a commercial film used to open a major conference they host each year in London. This film supports their marketing agenda and establishes the theme of the event.
This particular film was designed to support a marketing campaign based upon 'the senses'. We produced it using a mixture of pre-existing studio material and stock footage enhanced with CGI effects. We also created a rich sound design in Dolby 5.1 to enhance the sensual experience in the auditorium.
Directing a project of this kind entails a lot on attention to detail and intuition. Knowing what fits and feels right. It involved many hours of finessing, but I am glad to say it was a huge success with Nikon and delivered their message very effectively.
